Favicon:
A
favicon (short for "Favorites icon"), also known
as a page icon, is an icon associated with a
particular website. A web designer can create such
an icon, and many graphical web browsers such as
recent versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Mozilla, Opera, Safari, and Konqueror ”can then
make use of them. Browsers that support favicons
may display them in the browser's address bar,
next to the site's name in lists of bookmarks, and
next to the page's title in a Tabbed Document
Interface.
FFA:
A Free For All link page (FFA) is a web page set up to ostensibly improving the search engine placement of a particular web site.
File Transfer Protocol or FTP:
A way of transferring files (uploading and downloading) across the Internet. Most websites are uploaded to the Internet by means of an FTP program. This is how the website you create on your computer at home is transferred (uploaded) to the Internet.
Flash:
Animation software used to develop interactive graphics for Web sites as well as desktop presentations and games (Windows and Mac) by the company Macromedia. Flash on the Web is displayed by a browser plug-in. Non-Web presentations are run by a Flash player, included on a floppy or CD-ROM. Flash can be used to create vector-based graphics in one or more timelines that provide a sequential path for actions.
Frames:
Frames is the HTML extension that Netscape
developed to divide a page up into several
sub-pages.
FTP:
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a software standard for transferring computer files between machines with widely different operating systems. It belongs to the application layer of the Internet protocol suite.
Gateway Page:
Gateway Page are web pages that are created to rank high in search engines for particular phrases with purpose to seduce or hoax you to watch another page. They are also known as bridge pages, portal pages, zebra pages, jump pages, gateway pages, entry pages and by other names.
Google, MSN, Yahoo:
Google, Yahoo and MSN are the best known search engines.
Google PR or Page Rank:
PageRank is Google's patent pending technology that rates the importance of a given web page. PageRank is used by the most popular search engine Google (among other things) to determine a page's rank on Google's query results page.
